Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Archie Becker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Papa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Archie Becker has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Becker sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Becker tries to keep at a distance but Papa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Becker lands with a right to the head.
Becker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Papa is trying to break the clinch but Becker has him pressed against the cage.

Papa successfully pulls guard.
Papa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Papa is trying to control the position but Becker postures up.
Becker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Becker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Papa on the ground.

Let's hope that Papa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Papa has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Papa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Becker napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Becker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Becker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Becker throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Papa wants to get back to striking at distance but Becker won't allow it.

Papa is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Papa has had enough of the clinch but Becker keeps him there for the moment.

Papa has picked Becker up - he's going for a ride! Papa dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Well, if Papa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Becker wants to control but Papa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Papa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Papa wants to free his trapped foot but Becker is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Papa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Becker's guard.

Becker is defending against the submission attempts here by Papa.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Becker is trying to stand.

Tom Papa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Becker gets through Papa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Papa gets control of Becker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Papa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Papa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Becker swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Papa gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Becker regains guard.
Papa wants to stand but Becker is controlling his posture from full guard.

Becker suckers Papa into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Becker is now in Papa's guard!
