Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Patricus Faite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wayne Kerr!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Francis DeMontford and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kerr closes the distance and clinches.
Faite tries for a takedown but Kerr manages to get underhooks.
Kerr creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Faite's defenses.


It looks like Patricus Faite has been cut.

Faite escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Faite with a poor takedown
enabling Kerr to counter with a crisp jab.

Kerr rushes Faite and presses him up against the cage.
Kerr taking a breather.
Faite goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kerr prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patricus Faite. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Faite is working for takedown but Kerr is calmly controlling the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Faite wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Faite fails to land.
Faite tries to pull guard but Kerr holds him up against the cage and eventually Faite drops back down to his feet.
Kerr prevents the takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Faite takes an elbow to the forehead.
Kerr is pushing Faite up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Faite is trying to stall.
Kerr crunches a lovely knee into Faite's ribcage.

Kerr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kerr darts in and clinches Faite up against the cage.

Kerr drops Faite with a big knee straight up the middle! Faite is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


Faite is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Faite falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kerr counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Faite off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Kerr follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Faite was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Wayne Kerr!
Wayne Kerr was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
