Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angle comes to the cage accompanied by The Doors - Roadhouse Blues. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurt Angle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesse Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Angle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Taylor!
Taylor wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Angle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Taylor keeps working.
Taylor tries to buck Angle off but Angle is having none of it.
Angle prevents Taylor from escaping the position.

Angle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Taylor can't do much from the bottom here.
Taylor regains half guard.
Taylor keeping hold of Angle's head, controlling as best he can.
Taylor tries to roll over but Angle keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Angle wants to free his trapped foot but Taylor is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
You can see the frustration on Taylor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Taylor is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Angle is staying active.

Angle looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Angle is looking for a kimura but Taylor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Angle to get the leverage.
Angle stops Taylor from getting back to his feet.

Taylor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Angle wants to control but Taylor is keeping him busy.

Taylor is defending against the submission attempts here by Angle.
Taylor tries to kick Angle off but Angle keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Angle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Taylor actively working from the bottom here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Taylor is not content to let Angle control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taylor leaves Angle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Angle dodges the punch combination from Taylor.
Angle appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Kurt Angle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taylor stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Taylor wants it to stay on the feet.
Angle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Angle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taylor throws a leg kick but Angle sees it coming and moves out of range.
Taylor swings for the body but Angle moves out of range.

Taylor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Taylor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Angle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Angle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Angle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Taylor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Angle tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard.

Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Angle controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Taylor has his foot on Angle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Angle works his way back into a safe position though.
Kurt Angle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Taylor keeping moving, preventing Angle from controlling successfully.

Taylor has his feet on Angle's thighs here. He's pushed Angle off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Angle screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
