Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lowell Bockert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Gazelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nigel Gazelle will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lowell Bockert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nigel Gazelle!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazelle slaps away a takedown attempt from Bockert, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Bockert backs off Gazelle throws a huge counter combo but Bockert manages to avoid it all.
Gazelle tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bockert defends well and Gazelle ends up having to push Bockert into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gazelle tries to sprawl but Bockert drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bockert lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bockert is trying to control. Gazelle wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bockert throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bockert wants to take a breather but Gazelle is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gazelle can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've been hearing that Bockert has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gazelle has hold of Bockert's hands but Bockert slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bockert stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bockert wants it to stay on the feet.
Bockert slaps away a takedown attempt from Gazelle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lowell Bockert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nigel Gazelle.
Bockert shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gazelle as he avoids it easily.
Gazelle throws a fast counter high kick but Bockert manages to duck under it in time.
Gazelle leaves Bockert with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gazelle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bockert attempts a counter takedown but Gazelle avoids it well and moves away.
Bockert takes one on the button.


It looks like Lowell Bockert has been cut.
Gazelle fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Gazelle fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bockert, pushing him back against the cage.
Bockert drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Gazelle wants the takedown. Bockert is fighting it off but Gazelle persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bockert's guard against the cage.

Gazelle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bockert is keeping the position for now.
Bockert is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bockert lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Bockert thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lowell Bockert will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Bockert.
Bockert defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gazelle.
Bockert shoots for a double leg takedown but Gazelle sprawls well. He's pushed Bockert's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bockert shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gazelle pinned against the cage. Gazelle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lowell Bockert. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gazelle tries for a takedown but Bockert sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gazelle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bockert tries to avoid it but Gazelle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bockert to the ground. Bockert escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gazelle is breathing heavily.

Bockert shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bockert was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bockert lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bockert misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bockert is chipping away with strikes.
Gazelle takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

You can see the frustration on Gazelle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bockert creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Bockert tries to move to mount but Gazelle blocks the move with his legs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lowell Bockert overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bockert is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gazelle is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Gazelle closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bockert quickly recovers to half guard.
Gazelle not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Gazelle is trying to control the action in half guard but Bockert is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gazelle is stalling here. Bockert is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gazelle seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bockert has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Bockert lands a decent elbow from side control.
Bockert advances nicely into full mount.
Gazelle is bucking up trying to escape but Bockert cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Bockert wants to control the pace but Gazelle is squirming around nicely.
Bockert postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Gazelle badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Bockert around the waist but Bockert pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Bockert is the winner by TKO! Bockert jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lowell Bockert!
Lowell Bockert bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
In defeat, Nigel Gazelle stepped up to the mic, saying '.....'.
