The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose slips under a jab from Shelf.
Rose has a takedown stuffed.
Rose closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rose is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Shelf will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Rose works to advance to full mount. Shelf defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Shelf told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Shelf lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rose circles away quickly and effectively.
Rose feinted with a counter takedown.
Rose tests Shelf's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Rose thuds his right hand into Shelf's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rose looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rose is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shelf's shoulder. That is not cool.

Rose takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Horrible takedown attempt by Rose or perhaps it was just good defense by Shelf, which made it look bad.
