Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hatsu Hioki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Carlson Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hioki's entrance music is Pussy by Rammstein. A fine choice. Carlson Jr has chosen Muse- Stockholm Syndrome as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hioki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carlson Jr to the mat! Carlson Jr manages to get full guard.
Hioki sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carlson Jr's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carlson Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hioki has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Carlson Jr has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Carlson Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hioki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hioki is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Carlson Jr frees his head nicely. Oh but Hioki has switched to an armbar! Carlson Jr is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
