Hashimoto kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Chopin's Funeral March in B flat minor. Keiji Hashimoto could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Herman Pacquiao's chin.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacquiao works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Hashimoto drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hashimoto slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pacquiao can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pacquiao is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hashimoto asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Pacquiao misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hashimoto.
Hashimoto throws a leg kick but Pacquiao sees it coming and moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Pacquiao. No joy for Hashimoto on that attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hashimoto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hashimoto seems to be working for a kimura but Pacquiao defends the submission attempt.

Hashimoto is stalling here. Pacquiao is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hashimoto seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pacquiao has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Pacquiao has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Pacquiao scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Hashimoto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pacquiao paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hashimoto fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pacquiao blocks a leg kick.

Pacquiao tries to keep at a distance but Hashimoto has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hashimoto works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Hashimoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pacquiao manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hashimoto has Pacquiao in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pacquiao would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hashimoto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pacquiao controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That was a close second round but I would say that Keiji Hashimoto will probably get the nod.

Hashimoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hashimoto laying and praying for a moment but Pacquiao takes advantage and regains half guard.
Hashimoto is keen to just control but Pacquiao is a slippery customer.

Pacquiao is trying to escape back to his feet but Hashimoto uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hashimoto wants to control for a moment but Pacquiao uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Pacquiao rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hashimoto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hashimoto looks for a takedown but Pacquiao sprawls well.
Hashimoto scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pacquiao doesn't seem bothered though.

Hashimoto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pacquiao pinned against the cage. Pacquiao gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hashimoto fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pacquiao manages to avoid it.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Hashimoto is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pacquiao has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pacquiao!

Keiji Hashimoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hashimoto is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Pacquiao wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
