Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taylor Hurley!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bush dives in and grabs Hurley's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hurley pushes down on Bush's head and hops out.
Hurley wants to clinch but Bush slips to the side

and Bush counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bush.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bush is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hurley can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bush in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bush throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hurley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bush lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bush controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hurley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bush throws a big elbow that misses.
Bush throwing strikes but missing.
Bush is working Hurley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bush works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bush looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hurley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bush is thwarting Hurley's attempts to control the position.
Bush trying to control the pace.
Bush passes to side control.
Hurley is trying to strike from the bottom but Bush has passed into full mount.
Hurley is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bush lands a big elbow.
Bush avoids the attempt from Hurley to control.

Hurley tries to improve his position but Bush has taken his back! Bush has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Hurley tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Bush pushes Hurley away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). George Bush!
In his post fight interview, George Bush started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
