The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matienzo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nakamura moves away.
Nakamura went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Matienzo connects with the punch.

It looks like Shinsuke Nakamura has been cut.
Nakamura shoots in for a double leg but Matienzo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nakamura scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Matienzo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Matienzo throws a series of strikes that have Nakamura backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nakamura shoots in but Matienzo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nakamura throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Nakamura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Matienzo as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinsuke Nakamura. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nakamura tries to clinch but Matienzo moves out of range.
A nice side step and Matienzo releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Matienzo lands a big right hook! Nakamura looks hurt but is still standing! Matienzo lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Nakamura falls down and Matienzo dives in with a huge hammer fist! Nakamura's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Matienzo runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

A less than humble Yoel Matienzo misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Shinsuke Nakamura had this to say: 'I'm So Sorry Fans For Lost, I Don't Know I Could Quit MMA And Head Back To WWE Or NJPW Or Train Harder Win My Next Fight For You Fans'.
