Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prathamesh Randhawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randhawa has chosen Dhoom Taana as his entrance music. Prathamesh Randhawa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luiz Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Prathamesh Randhawa!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randhawa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diaz avoids it really well and circles away.
Diaz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Randhawa.
Randhawa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes.
Diaz was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Luiz Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Prathamesh Randhawa.

Diaz tries to sprawl but Randhawa drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Randhawa works his foot free and advances to mount.

Randhawa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Diaz is now in Randhawa's guard. A big mistake from Randhawa there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Randhawa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Randhawa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Diaz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Randhawa.

Randhawa tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position.

Diaz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Randhawa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Randhawa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Diaz scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Randhawa tries to roll over but Diaz keeps him under control.

Randhawa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diaz's guard.

Randhawa has knee on belly momentarily but Diaz bucks him off and regains half guard.
Randhawa content to control rather than advance.
Randhawa uses his free foot to push down on Diaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Diaz.

Diaz is squirming around, avoiding Randhawa's attempts to control the action.
Diaz is wriggling around trying to escape.

Randhawa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Diaz has worked his arm free - good work by Diaz!
Randhawa tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Randhawa wants to take a breather but Diaz manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Randhawa.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prathamesh Randhawa dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Diaz enables Randhawa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Diaz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Prathamesh Randhawa has got the better of the ground game so far.
Randhawa wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving.
Randhawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Randhawa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Randhawa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Randhawa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diaz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Randhawa has Diaz in his guard.

Diaz is in close to Randhawa's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Randhawa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Randhawa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Diaz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Randhawa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Diaz connects with a nice short shot to Randhawa's temple.

Randhawa pushes a forearm under Diaz's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Diaz is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Prathamesh Randhawa!
