Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derks throws a lazy uppercut
and Souza counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Derks looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Souza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Derks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Derks with a nice head shot there.
Derks distracts Souza with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Derks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Souza can do anything to dispel that myth.
Souza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Derks throws a big elbow that misses.
Derks trying to control the position from guard on top but Souza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Derks working some strikes from top position.
Derks is looking to work some ground and pound but Souza has wrist control.
Derks is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Derks passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Derks throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Derks missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Derks uses his free foot to push down on Souza's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Souza.
Derks lands a nice shot to the head.
Derks is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Souza is forced to tap! Great finish!
