PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Marcell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randall Levert Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall Levert Jr told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Niko Marcell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Randall Levert Jr!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Levert Jr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marcell tries to avoid it but Levert Jr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marcell to the ground. Marcell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Marcell drops down looking for a counter takedown but Levert Jr sprawls and moves away.
Levert Jr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marcell as he jumps to the side.
Marcell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Levert Jr goes for a double leg but Marcell avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marcell continues to drive forward.
Niko Marcell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randall Levert Jr.
Levert Jr looks to throw a body kick

so Marcell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Marcell passes Levert Jr's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marcell connects with a nice short shot to Levert Jr's temple.
Marcell slips a nice elbow through Levert Jr's hands, connecting with Levert Jr's forehead.
Levert Jr on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Marcell drops an elbow to the side of Levert Jr's head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Marcell lands a nice short elbow.
Marcell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Levert Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marcell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Levert Jr has hold of Marcell's hands but Marcell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Nice strikes from Marcell there.
Levert Jr looks winded!

Marcell drops an elbow to the side of Levert Jr's head.

Levert Jr is rocked!

Marcell seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Levert Jr is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
