The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez stuffs the takedown.
Typhun tries to score with a low kick but Alvarez moves his leg out of the way.
Alvarez tries for a takedown but Typhun sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Typhun is looking to clinch.
Alvarez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Typhun counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Typhun passes Alvarez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Alvarez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Alvarez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Typhun's guard.
Alvarez tries to free his leg and advance position but Typhun is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alvarez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Typhun looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Typhun looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Typhun!

Typhun has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Alvarez tries to get to full guard but Typhun has control of the leg.

Typhun is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alvarez wants to improve his position but Typhun is controlling well.
Typhun tries to stand and escape but Alvarez is controlling the position.
Alvarez is pressing down on Typhun's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Alvarez looking for a guillotine here but Typhun defends easily.
Alvarez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
