Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pretentious Kneecap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Louisville Slugger!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slugger moves away from the strike by Kneecap.
Kneecap lands a glancing blow to the side of Slugger's head.
A telegraphed right hand from Slugger misses the target.
Kneecap fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Slugger, pushing him back against the cage.
Slugger is trying to pull guard but Kneecap has him pressed against the cage.
Slugger successfully pulls guard.
Kneecap showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slugger can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kneecap postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Slugger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kneecap, into his guard.
Kneecap has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Slugger has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kneecap to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Slugger is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kneecap pulls down on the head and he's put Slugger to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Pretentious Kneecap!
During a confident post fight interview, Pretentious Kneecap thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
