Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rancho Wildslap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mon Ster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wildslap's entrance music is Get Schwifty. A fine choice. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rancho Wildslap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mon Ster!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wildslap shoots in for a takedown but Ster shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wildslap gets caught flat footed, as Ster shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ster sitting in guard here, content to control.
Wildslap looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ster wants to stand but Wildslap has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wildslap is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ster landing some decent shots from guard.
Wildslap wants to sweep here but Ster controlling him for the moment.

Wildslap looking to control.
Ster passes Wildslap's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wildslap tries to get to full guard but Ster has control of the leg.

Ster is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wildslap has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ster seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ster trying to mount his opponent but Wildslap defends it.

Wildslap looking for submissions off his back.
Ster looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ster is controlling the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ster throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wildslap was covering up waiting for the punch and Ster finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wildslap throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Wildslap looking for a guillotine here but Ster defends easily.
Wildslap wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ster is now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wildslap gets back to full guard.

Wildslap looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ster sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wildslap is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ster defends well.
Ster slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mon Ster dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Ster scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
You can see the frustration on Wildslap's face as Ster controls the position.
Wildslap regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ster's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Wildslap trying to get back to full guard but Ster takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Wildslap bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Ster looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ster looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wildslap is one step ahead there.
Ster is trying to keep Wildslap in close.
Wildslap pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ster is keeping the position for now.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ster is on top in guard.


Ster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Wildslap gets a takedown into half guard.

Ster kicks Wildslap off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ster closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ster thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Wildslap is looking for a sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ster advances to mount.
Ster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ster jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Wildslap manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ster decides to stand back up. Ster steps back and let's Wildslap get back to his feet.
Ster looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wildslap misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ster shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ster tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Wildslap tries to get to full guard but Ster has control of the leg.
Wildslap is pressing down on Ster's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mon Ster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Wildslap darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ster has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wildslap is working away from the top position though.
Ster has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ster is not content to let Wildslap control the position.

Wildslap is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wildslap seems to be working for a kimura but Ster defends the submission attempt.

Wildslap seems to be working for a kimura but Ster defends the submission attempt.
Ster is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wildslap's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wildslap's back!
Wildslap breaks Ster's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Wildslap trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Rancho Wildslap has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Let's hope that Ster has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ster holds on and takes a little breather.

Ster has Wildslap pulled in close to control his posture.
Wildslap wants to pass the guard but Ster is keeping the position.
Ster trying to control the position here.
Wildslap throws a big right hand that misses.
Ster is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Wildslap tries to sprawl but Ster drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Wildslap gets back to full guard.
Wildslap tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ster controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mon Ster is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rancho Wildslap.
Well Ster has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mon Ster was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
In defeat, Rancho Wildslap stepped up to the mic, saying 'You're my boogie.'.
