PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tucker is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Platters - Only You. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 81 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Todd Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker tries a head kick but it misses.
Tucker looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kyle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tucker's waist but Tucker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kyle off to one side.
Kyle avoids the head kick by Tucker.
Tucker throws a sloppy head kick and Kyle moves out of range easily.
Kyle fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kyle clinches up with Tucker and pushes him back against the cage.

Kyle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kyle misses with a takedown attempt - Tucker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kyle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tucker but Tucker pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Owen Kyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tucker blocks a head kick by Kyle.
Kyle dives in for a single leg takedown but Tucker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kyle.
Kyle shoots in and drives through. Tucker sprawls well.

Kyle lands a left and a right that send Tucker crashing to the mat, dazed. Kyle thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Todd Tucker has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tucker blocks a head kick by Kyle.
Kyle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tucker pinned against the cage. Tucker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tucker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tucker wants it to stay on the feet.
Kyle avoids the head kick by Tucker.
Tucker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kyle fails with the takedown.
Tucker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kyle darts in looking for a takedown but Tucker gets double underhooks and turns Kyle into the cage.

Kyle drops Tucker with a beautiful combination! Tucker stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kyle is looking for the KO!

Tucker is rocked!
Kyle and Tucker are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Kyle throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Tucker into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Kyle knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Owen Kyle!
