PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Noam Dar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nevil Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hawk's choice of entrance music: Ruleta. On his way into the cage it seems that Noam Dar has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Noam Dar seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nevil Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dar slips under a jab.
Dar half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Dar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hawk defends it nicely.
Dar misses with a takedown
and Hawk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hawk throws a hook but Dar avoids it easily.

Dar keeps control of Hawk as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

We've been informed that Hawk has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Hawk might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hawk is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dar is controlling him well.

Hawk is trying to stand but he's just given Dar his back.
Dar slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dar jumps guard and drags Hawk to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Dar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hawk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hawk wants to stand but Dar is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hawk is aware though and is defending well.

Dar looking for a guillotine here but Hawk defends easily.

Dar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hawk wants to get up but he can't break Dar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hawk is staying active underneath Dar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dar prevents Hawk from standing back up.
Noam Dar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hawk scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Dar manages to mount him!
