Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank N (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jens Pulver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank N!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

N clinches.
Pulver prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pulver misses with an elbow strike.
N is trying to stall.
Pulver tries for a takedown but N manages to get underhooks.
N keeps control of Pulver as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Pulver lands with a light punch inside.
Pulver stops a takedown attempt from N.
Pulver on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

N tightens his grip and picks Pulver up, before dumping him to the ground. Pulver manages to land in guard.
N works over Pulver with some ground and pound from guard.
N trying to control but Pulver is working from the bottom.
Pulver can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as N controls the pace.
N keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pulver's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
N looking to pass the guard.

N thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

N drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pulver looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pulver looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pulver!
N looks to move to half guard but instead Pulver has passed into mount! Damn!

That's one minute gone in the round.
N is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pulver with the ground and pound from mount.
Pulver pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
N is trying to escape the mount.
N regains half guard.
Pulver is nestled in close to N, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Pulver thows a huge punch but N dodges it nicely.
N trying to control but Pulver postures up.
N wants to improve his position but Pulver is controlling well.
N slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
N is trying to keep Pulver in close.

Pulver gets to his feet - N follows without any prompting.
N keeps the fight on the outside.
N throws a right and a left that both miss.
N looks to clinch

and Pulver counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now N is on top in guard.
Pulver looking for a sweep. Not yet Pulver, not yet.
N stays in close to Pulver's body and controls the position.
N works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Pulver is breathing heavily.
N is controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pulver is trying to stand back up but N is controlling him
N is taking a breather. Pulver says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pulver tries to get to full guard but N has control of the leg.

N has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pulver defend it? N steps over the head and cranks it - Pulver is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for N!
