Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tuco Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tuco Cortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cortez counters with a big head kick but Johnson shrugs it off.
Johnson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cortez.
Cortez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Tuco Cortez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Johnson.
Cortez feints and then cracks Johnson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Johnson down.

Cortez stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
As Johnson backs away, Cortez returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cortez pinned against the cage. Cortez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A quick step to the side and Cortez tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cortez as he avoids it easily.
We've been told by Cortez's head coaches at Valhalla Iron Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cortez throws out a powerful jab.

Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cortez lands with a hook. Johnson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Cortez connects with a solid leg kick.
Johnson darts in looking for a takedown but Cortez gets double underhooks and turns Johnson into the cage.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Cortez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters circling a little - Cortez finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Cortez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Johnson goes for a double leg but Cortez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cortez continues to drive forward.

and Cortez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Cortez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
Cortez looks to land a combination. Johnson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Cortez scores with a head kick. Johnson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Cortez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Johnson momentarily.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cortez pinned against the cage. Cortez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cortez lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cortez lands with a slapping head kick.
Cortez lands with a cross.
Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Cortez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cortez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well.

Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cortez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Cortez's legs - danger averted.
Cortez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cortez tries to get out of the position.

Johnson passes Cortez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Johnson is trying to control. Cortez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Johnson is taking a breather. Cortez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Cortez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cortez swivels and escapes.
Cortez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson.

Cortez moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.

Cortez is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cortez down to the mat. Cortez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Johnson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cortez explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Cortez jabs Johnson right on the nose. Johnson blinks but takes it well.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Johnson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cortez - the referee stops the clock and Johnson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cortez. Johnson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cortez lands a big head kick that sends Johnson tumbling to the mat! Cortez takes a step backwards and waves Johnson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Johnson is rocked!
Cortez looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Cortez backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Johnson's temple! It sends Johnson violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Cortez celebrates and the doctors try to help Johnson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Tuco Cortez!
Tuco Cortez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
