Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zeke Acacia!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jukka Purjo!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Purjo misses with a takedown attempt - Acacia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Acacia on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Purjo misses the shot to the body.
Acacia throws a head kick but Purjo moves out of range.
Purjo looks for the body kick but Acacia saw that one coming.
Acacia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Purjo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Acacia won't be happy with that.
Acacia is trying to get back to his feet.
Purjo throws a strike aimed at the side of Acacia's head but Acacia avoids it well.
Acacia defending against the ground and pound.
Acacia is trying to control Purjo's posture but Purjo avoids it.
Purjo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Acacia sneaks back into half guard.

Acacia is trying to stand back up but Purjo is controlling him
Purjo wants to control but Acacia is keeping him busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Purjo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Acacia is fending him off so far but Purjo persists. Nope, Acacia circles away and we're back to standing.
Purjo walks into a stiff left hand from Acacia.
The fighters circling - Purjo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Purjo throws a right hand that Acacia ducks under and follows up with a left that Acacia also avoids with ease.
Acacia doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Purjo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Acacia won't be happy with that.
Acacia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Acacia is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Purjo off and has taken his back!
Purjo tries to escape the position.

Purjo trying to control the action but Acacia just sinks the hooks in.
Acacia controls the action.
Purjo trying to control the hands but Acacia won't let him.

Acacia is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Purjo is defending well though. Acacia let's go of the attempt for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Acacia's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Purjo breaks Acacia's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Purjo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Acacia lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Purjo!
Purjo wants to hold on but Acacia pushes him away.
Purjo can't escape the position.
Purjo has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Acacia's lack of action.
Purjo controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Purjo is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jukka Purjo dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Acacia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Purjo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Purjo throws a shot from downtown. Acacia moves away and avoids it.
Acacia swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Acacia misses with a jab to the body
and Purjo counters with a nice uppercut.
Acacia misses with a head kick.
Purjo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Some wild striking there from Purjo.
A big left from Purjo misses.
Purjo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Acacia.
A good leg kick by Acacia.
Acacia misses with a body punch
and Purjo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Purjo takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Purjo is breathing heavily.
Purjo scores with a jab to the head.
Acacia looks to score with a jab to the body but Purjo is just out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Acacia lands with a kick to the temple. Purjo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Nice sprawl there from Acacia as Purjo shoots in.
Zeke Acacia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Acacia is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Zeke Acacia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Purjo avoids a kick to the body.
Acacia lands a jab.
Acacia avoids a kick to the body.
Acacia connects with a solid leg kick.
Acacia stuns Purjo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Acacia scores with a spinning back kick!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Acacia misses with a looping left.
Acacia lands a head kick!
Purjo has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Acacia throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Purjo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Nice uppercut lands for Acacia. That snapped Purjo's head back.
Acacia with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Purjo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Acacia throws a jab when Purjo was well out of range.
Purjo closes the distance and clinches up with Acacia, looking for a takedown. Purjo pushes Acacia against the cage but Acacia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Acacia throws a left that rocks Purjo and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Acacia dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Purjo regain composure!


Purjo is rocked!

Acacia decides to stand back up.
Purjo is still on wobbly legs! Can Acacia finish him?
Acacia moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Purjo seems to have recovered his senses.
Acacia with a hook.
Purjo blocks a low kick nicely.
Acacia takes a swing at Purjo's ribcage but misses.
Acacia connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Purjo tumbling to the canvas! Acacia pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Purjo was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Zeke Acacia!
Zeke Acacia retains his lightweight title!
