The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Shamrock scores with a crisp jab that stopped Adelhard in his tracks.
Adelhard is rocked!
It looks like Brian Adelhard has been cut.
Shamrock lands a nice hook to Adelhard's body. Adelhard takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Adelhard is still on wobbly legs! Can Shamrock finish him?

Adelhard wants to clinch but Shamrock slips to the side
and Shamrock counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Shamrock works Adelhard's body with a nice hook.
Adelhard seems to have recovered his senses.
Adelhard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Adelhard fails to land.
Shamrock is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Adelhard is defending well for now.
Adelhard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shamrock uses from the top position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Adelhard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shamrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shamrock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Adelhard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shamrock has managed to get both his arms back between Adelhard's legs - danger averted.
Adelhard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shamrock would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Adelhard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Shamrock stands up from Adelhard's guard - Shamrock perhaps looking for a knockout.
Shamrock wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Adelhard wants to clinch
and Shamrock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Adelhard takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Shamrock counters with a stiff right hand.
Shamrock lands with a nice body punch.
Shamrock lands a nice shot that snaps Adelhard's head back.
Shamrock lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Adelhard up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Shamrock from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Adelhard's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ken Shamrock!
