PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bam Bam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bam Bam!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bam shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Foster as he jumps to the side.

Bam gets a double leg takedown into Foster's guard.
Foster has momentary wrist control but Bam slips an elbow through the middle.
Bam distracts Foster with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bam postures up.
Bam is in close to Foster's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Foster working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bam doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bam manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bam working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Bam postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bam postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Foster looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bam missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bam is fighting to break Foster's control of his arms but Foster is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Bam lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bam passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bam working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bam cracks Foster with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Foster can't do much from the bottom here.
Bam lands a few punches from side control.
Bam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Foster keeps working.
Bam working away.
Bam scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Foster to see if he's OK.

Bam landing a few strikes.
Foster is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Bam grinds an elbow into Foster's temple.
Foster is looking for a sweep.
Bam working the body and head with strikes.

Bam is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Foster knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bam lands a few punches from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bam grinds an elbow into Foster's temple.
Bam working the head with strikes.

Bam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Foster is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bam creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Bam working the ground and pound.
Bam in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bam connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Foster some visible discomfort.
Foster takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Foster is trying to get back to half guard.
Bam looks up at the clock and then as Foster takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bam smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bam working the ground and pound.
Foster wants to control but Bam postures up.
Foster regains half guard.

Foster is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bam pulls his head out easily.
Foster is breathing heavily.
Bam is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bam drops an elbow to the side of Foster's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bam connects with a nice short shot to Foster's temple.
Bam is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Foster wants to control but Bam is having none of it.
Foster is squirming around, avoiding Bam's attempts to control the action.
The referee warns Foster that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bam unloading with bombs!
Bam is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Bam raining down shots from the mount!


Foster is rocked!
Bam postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Foster badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Bam around the waist but Bam pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Bam is the winner by TKO! Bam jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bam Bam!
Our winner, Bam Bam, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
