PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kawaki Inoshita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawaki Inoshita looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sylvester Moon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kawaki Inoshita!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Inoshita shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Moon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Inoshita prevents Moon from escaping the position.
Moon tries to improve position but can't.
Moon throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Moon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Moon bucks up and tries to throw Inoshita off but instead Inoshita has got his back!
Moon rolls, trying to escape but Inoshita keeps control of the position.
Inoshita is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inoshita just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Moon is in bad spot here.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
I really don't envy Moon right now.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Inoshita controlling the positon.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Moon trying to get back to his feet but Inoshita is in full control for now.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Inoshita looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Moon is trying to stand back up.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Moon is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Inoshita keeps control of the position easily here as Moon tries to buck him off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawaki Inoshita dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Inoshita closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Inoshita lands in his opponent's guard.
Moon is looking to stand back up but Inoshita counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Moon.
Inoshita is taking a breather. Moon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kawaki Inoshita has got the better of the ground game so far.
Inoshita uses his free foot to push down on Moon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moon is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Inoshita controlling from mount.
Moon is looking to improve his position but Inoshita isn't that keen on the idea.
Inoshita controlling the pace for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Moon wants to try and get back to his feet.
Moon tries to reverse the position but Inoshita maintains control.
Moon's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Moon working to try and regain half guard.
Inoshita takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Inoshita is continuing to stall.
Moon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kawaki Inoshita showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Moon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Inoshita avoids it really well and circles away.
Inoshita tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Moon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Inoshita counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Inoshita throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Moon was covering up waiting for the punch and Inoshita finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Inoshita is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inoshita forces his way into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moon wants to get back to full guard.
Moon looks like he's trying to stand up.
Inoshita controlling the action here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Inoshita stops Moon from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Inoshita drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Moon wants to stand up but Inoshita is controlling him.
Inoshita not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moon wants to stand and escape but Inoshita is having none of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Inoshita slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Inoshita closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Moon did well to prevent Inoshita getting side control.

Moon with the active half guard here but Inoshita passes nicely into side control.
Inoshita has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Inoshita moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Inoshita's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Kawaki Inoshita comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Inoshita has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
