The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez scores with a sloppy right hand. Matos should have avoided that one.
Cortez getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Matos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Matos misses with a looping left.
Cortez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cortez lands a glancing blow to the side of Matos's head.
Matos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cortez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Cortez lands a big uppercut and Matos crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Matos looks OK. Cortez waves Matos back to his feet!

Cortez cracks Matos with a hook to the temple - Matos is on wobbly legs here! Cortez swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Matos falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Cortez wins by TKO!
