Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carol Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ujang Ladiang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carol Owens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ujang Ladiang!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ladiang looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Owens!
Owens wants to get back to his feet but Ladiang drags him back down.

Ladiang thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ladiang decides to stand back up. Ladiang steps back and let's Owens get back to his feet.

Ladiang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Owens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Owens is not content to let Ladiang control the position.

Ladiang decides to stand up, so the ref orders Owens to his feet.

Ladiang scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Owens manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Ladiang has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Owens is on him like a limpet, forcing Ladiang back against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Ladiang works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Owens is trying to keep Ladiang in close.

Ladiang drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Owens dives on top into guard.

Owens throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Ladiang had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Owens defends it easily.
Owens prevents Ladiang from getting back to his feet.
Owens is in close to Ladiang's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Ladiang throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Ladiang trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Ladiang is pulling down on Owens's head to control his posture.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ladiang is on top in guard.

Owens wants to sweep but no luck.

Ladiang gets to his feet. Owens looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Owens gets caught flat footed, as Ladiang shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ladiang passes Owens's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Ladiang tries to stand and escape but Owens is controlling the position.

Owens looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Owens is trying to stand.
Owens is breathing heavily.
Ladiang perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ujang Ladiang dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Ladiang shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ladiang showed some decent athleticism there.

Owens manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ladiang keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ladiang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ladiang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Owens paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Owens appears to be looking for a big counter.

Ladiang has managed to clinch.
Owens is trying to push Ladiang away but Ladiang has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ladiang gets control of Owens's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ladiang will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ladiang manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Ladiang is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Owens can't fight it off and eventually Ladiang manages to take the fight to the floor. Owens looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Owens can't keep his opponent in guard - Ladiang advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ladiang is trying to control. Owens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ladiang tries to pass to full mount but Owens defends it.
Ladiang prevents Owens from improving his position.
Owens looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ladiang thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ladiang has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ladiang trying to control the action but Owens is working from the bottom.
Ladiang throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Owens tries to kick Ladiang off but Ladiang keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Owens actively working from the bottom here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ujang Ladiang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ladiang shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Owens manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ladiang thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Owens controls Ladiang momentarily but Ladiang frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ladiang with a flurry of punches that miss.
Owens looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Owens working for a triangle but Ladiang defends it easily.
Ladiang is working Owens over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ladiang stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Owens has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Ladiang manages to get his head free but now Owens has transitioned to an armbar! Ladiang grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Owens! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carol Owens!
