Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Dorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Vale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vale has chosen Motorhead-Iron Fist as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vale fails to land with a series of punches.
Dorn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vale lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Dorn has closed the distance and engaged Vale in a clinch.
Dorn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Vale breaks from the clinch.

Dorn tries to sprawl but Vale drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Dorn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vale pulls his head out easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dorn throws a jab but it's blocked by Vale.

Vale moves into range and clinches up with Dorn.

Dorn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dorn throws a nice looking combination but Vale bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vale lands a leg kick that knocks Dorn off balance momentarily.
Dorn takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Vale tests Dorn's chin there with a solid looking shot.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vale has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Dorn wants to clinch

The fighters circle momentarily. Vale darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dorn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Vale looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Dorn tries to get to full guard but Vale has control of the leg.

Dorn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vale's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vale's back!

Vale is trying to shake Dorn off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Dorn won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Vale is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Vale misses with a two punch combination.
Dorn looks to land a left hand but Vale moved out of range nicely.
Dorn misses with a hook. Vale ducked under it nicely.
Dorn throws a nice looking combination but Vale bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dorn tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vale manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vale goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Vale avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vale is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Dorn throws a right hand that Vale ducks under and follows up with a left that Vale also avoids with ease.
Vale lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Vale counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Dorn!

Vale trying to control the position but Dorn is working away.

Vale decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dorn to his feet.

Vale stands and steps away. Dorn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Vale shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dorn napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dorn is not content to let Vale control the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dorn takes a swing at Vale's ribcage but misses.
Vale staying out of range there.
Vale with the counter takedown but Dorn avoids it easily.
Vale throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vale swats away the attempt to clinch by Dorn.
Dorn wants to clinch but Vale slips to the side

and Vale counters with a shoot takedown. Dorn fights it but they end up in guard.

Dorn is looking to cinch up a triangle. Vale throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Dorn's body to avoid the submission. Dorn has instead reached around Vale's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Dorn arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
