Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marin Averescu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sumwan Speshial (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marin Averescu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sumwan Speshial!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Averescu.
Averescu fails with a takedown attempt.
Averescu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Speshial but Speshial pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Averescu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Averescu there as he acknowledges the shot.
Averescu tries to clinch there but Speshial circles away.
Averescu fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Speshial throws out a counter right but Averescu avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marin Averescu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Averescu walks into a left hand.
Averescu feints a jab promting Speshial to slip. Averescu then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Speshial slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Averescu moves into the clinch successfully.

Speshial pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Averescu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Speshial stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Averescu scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Speshial tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Averescu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Speshial is still trying to improve position.
Speshial is trying to control Averescu's posture but Averescu avoids it.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Averescu is looking to take a break and control but Speshial is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Speshial has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Speshial moves out of range of the body kick from Averescu.
Averescu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Speshial swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Averescu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Speshial! But no joy.
Averescu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Speshial keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Speshial looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Speshial uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Averescu.
Marin Averescu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Averescu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Speshial looks to land a left hand but Averescu moved out of range nicely.

Averescu has managed to clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Marin Averescu will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Averescu uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Speshial.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Averescu.
Speshial appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
The fighters circling - Averescu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Averescu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Averescu is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Speshial to keep the fight standing.

Oh Averescu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sumwan Speshial is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Speshial drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Averescu right on the button. Averescu goes down! Speshial follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Speshial gets the win via TKO!
