And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Andre Richards!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Richards.
Butcher misses with a takedown
and Richards counters with a crisp one two that drops Butcher! Richards thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Butcher to his feet! Butcher is in big trouble!
Butcher moves out of range as Richards strikes.
Richards lands a body shot.
Butcher tries to clinch but Richards is having none of it.
Butcher is trying hard to land a takedown here. Richards sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Richards connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Butcher shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Richards napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Richards is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
An elbow from Butcher crashes against the mat.

Butcher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ground and pound from Butcher seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Butcher throws a strike aimed at the side of Richards's head but Richards avoids it well.
Richards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Butcher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Richards is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Butcher has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Butcher lands some shots froms side control.
Butcher is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Richards knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Richards parries the strikes from Butcher easily there. Butcher is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Richards to escape.
Butcher throws a strike aimed at the side of Richards's head but Richards avoids it well.
Richards avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Butcher.
Richards stops Butcher from passing to mount.
Butcher tries for a kimura but Richards is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Richards wants to get back to his feet.
Butcher unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Richards wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Butcher celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
