PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antoni Koscielski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Bernside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koscielski comes to the cage accompanied by Bone Thugs n Harmony - Thuggish Ruggish Bone . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Antoni Koscielski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, David Bernside!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bernside manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Koscielski on his heels. He'll look to pass Koscielski's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bernside's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Koscielski pulls Bernside in close to his closed guard and prevents Bernside from doing any damage or advancing position.
Bernside connects with a couple of short punches.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koscielski is on top in guard.

Bernside keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Bernside trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
We've been hearing that Koscielski has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Koscielski content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koscielski works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Bernside actively working from the bottom here.

Koscielski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bernside defends it well.

Bernside throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Koscielski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Koscielski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bernside is trying to get back to full guard.

Koscielski tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bernside.
Bernside flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Koscielski is keen to just control but Bernside is a slippery customer.
Bernside tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Bernside is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Koscielski scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bernside?
Bernside swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Bernside is looking to get to half guard.
Koscielski is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bernside can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Koscielski wants to control the pace but Bernside is squirming around nicely.

Koscielski lands a heavy elbow.
Bernside is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Bernside sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Koscielski passes to side control.
Bernside gets back to half guard.
Bernside is looking for a sweep. Koscielski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bernside tries to get to full guard but Koscielski has control of the leg.
Koscielski scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Koscielski looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Koscielski is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Koscielski is nestled in close to Bernside, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Koscielski is looking to advance position but Bernside won't allow it.

Koscielski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Antoni Koscielski dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Koscielski slips under a jab.
Koscielski throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Bernside stumbling backwards into the cage! Bernside bounces back off the cage towards Koscielski, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Koscielski lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Koscielski celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Antoni Koscielski!
An out of breath Antoni Koscielski thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
