Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julio Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adam Zobrist!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zobrist uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chavez.
Zobrist tries to bum rush Chavez with a series of wild strikes but Chavez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chavez shoots for a takedown but Zobrist saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Chavez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Chavez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zobrist scores with a one two! Chavez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Chavez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zobrist manages to avoid it.

As Chavez backs off Zobrist throws a huge counter combo but Chavez manages to avoid it all.

Zobrist sizes up Chavez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chavez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Despite the aggression on Zobrist's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Zobrist is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Zobrist throws a hook but Chavez blocks it.

Zobrist jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Chavez walks away with a smile on his face. Zobrist gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

No joy there for Zobrist, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Horrible takedown attempt by Chavez or perhaps it was just good defense by Zobrist, which made it look bad.

Chavez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zobrist tries to avoid it but Chavez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zobrist to the ground. Zobrist escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chavez.

Chavez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zobrist, pushing him back against the cage.

Zobrist scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Chavez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zobrist's waist but Zobrist gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chavez off to one side.

Zobrist throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Chavez crashing down! Chavez tries to stagger back to his feet but Zobrist just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Chavez asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
