Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zackary Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberto Delgado has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zackary Gaines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roberto Delgado!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Delgado is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gaines's half guard.
Gaines wants to improve his position but Delgado is controlling well.
Gaines is looking to get back to full guard here but Delgado has managed to pass to side control instead.
Delgado in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Delgado working the strikes but Gaines uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Delgado trying to mount his opponent but Gaines defends it.

Gaines wants to control but Delgado is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gaines really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Delgado is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Delgado throwing shots but Gaines is blocking nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gaines tries to get to full guard but Delgado has control of the leg.
Delgado is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Delgado misses with a head kick.

Delgado gets a takedown into half guard.

Delgado is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Delgado wants to take a breather but Gaines is having none of it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Delgado takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Delgado throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gaines.
Gaines is looking for a counter combo.

Delgado is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gaines's half guard.
Gaines is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gaines gets caught napping as Delgado dives in and scores a takedown. Gaines manages to retain guard.

Delgado wants to stand but Gaines is controlling his posture from full guard.

Gaines throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roberto Delgado has got the better of the ground game so far.
Delgado is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gaines shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gaines avoids a punch combination nicely.
Delgado throws a sloppy head kick and Gaines moves out of range easily.

Delgado looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gaines!

Gaines will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gaines is looking to regain half guard here but Delgado keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Delgado tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Delgado has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Gaines shoots for a double leg takedown but Delgado sprawls well. He's pushed Gaines's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zackary Gaines. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Delgado fails with an attempt to clinch.
Delgado has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gaines moves into the clinch.

Delgado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Delgado shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gaines's guard.

Roberto Delgado showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Delgado shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Delgado was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gaines closes the distance and clinches up with Delgado, looking for a takedown. Gaines pushes Delgado against the cage but Delgado circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Delgado fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gaines to the ground. Delgado is now in Gaines's guard.
Delgado not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Delgado is continuing to stall.

Gaines is striking but Delgado is not phased and passes to half guard.
Delgado wants to control but Gaines is keeping him busy.

Delgado decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Delgado shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gaines avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Delgado.

Delgado is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gaines works his way to full guard. Good work.
Delgado seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Delgado throws a big elbow that misses.

I've got Delgado winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
