Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toni Huerta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and david torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). david torres is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, david torres!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huerta swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Huerta wants to clinch.

torres closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - torres lands in his opponent's guard.

Huerta throws his legs up looking for a submission but torres uses it to pass to side control.

Huerta is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but torres has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Huerta doesn't have the hooks in and torres manages to turn into his guard.

Huerta had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. torres is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Huerta Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take torres's back instead.

Huerta is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. torres defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Huerta looking to break torres's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. torres remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Huerta will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

torres is in a bad position with Huerta working for a choke. torres manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Huerta has his foot on torres's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. torres works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

torres keeps the fight on the outside.
Huerta rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but torres moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Huerta moves into the clinch.
Huerta softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Huerta lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
torres blocks an uppercut.
Huerta misses with some punches.
Huerta doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Still in the clinch, Huerta scores with a nice short uppercut.
Huerta wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Huerta is pressed up against the cage. torres has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Huerta down to the mat. Huerta avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Toni Huerta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Huerta tries to close the distance and clinch up but torres swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A left lands for Huerta.

It looks like david torres has been cut.
torres throws a hook but Huerta avoids it easily.
torres dodges the punch combination from Huerta.
torres throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Huerta sees it coming and avoids it easily.

torres throws a series of punches but Huerta moves out of range.
Huerta keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Huerta cracks a nice hook into torres's ribs.
torres keeps the fight on the outside.
Huerta bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops torres! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Huerta drops back looking for a leg! torres is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and torres manages to kick Huerta off! Huerta jumps back into torres's guard.

Huerta drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Huerta seems to have locked his on tight now - torres screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Huerta, as he picks up the win!
