Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaziah Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jaziah Maximus enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximus has a takedown stuffed.
Maximus looks for a takedown but Vargas sprawls well.
Maximus gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Vargas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Vargas throws a big right hand that misses.
Vargas lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Maximus has momentary wrist control but Vargas slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vargas prevents Maximus from getting back to his feet.
Vargas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vargas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vargas distracts Maximus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vargas with a nice head shot there.
Maximus wants to sweep but no luck.
Vargas keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Maximus's head.

Vargas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Maximus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Maximus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Maximus!

Vargas is trying to get back to half guard.

Maximus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vargas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Maximus looks winded!
Vargas wants to control but Maximus postures up.
Vargas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vargas gets back to half guard.
Maximus wants to take a breather but Vargas is having none of it.
Vargas manages to get to full guard.

Vargas has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Maximus should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Vargas has tightened it up now! Maximus should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
