Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Longstreet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donovan McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Longstreet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Donovan McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGuire instigates a clinch.
McGuire presses Longstreet against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Longstreet is fighting off a takedown attempt but McGuire is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Longstreet to the mat. Longstreet regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Longstreet keeping moving, preventing McGuire from controlling successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire trying to control the position from guard on top but Longstreet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McGuire passes Longstreet's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

McGuire is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Longstreet doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McGuire.
McGuire moves into full mount! Longstreet won't be happy about that!
Longstreet keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGuire trying to control but Longstreet is having none of it.

McGuire swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Longstreet is now in McGuire's guard. A big mistake from McGuire there, giving up the dominant position!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

McGuire is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGuire can do anything to dispel that myth.
Longstreet postures up in McGuire's guard and throws a big left but McGuire blocks it.
Longstreet lands a couple of digs.
Longstreet looking to sit in guard and control but McGuire gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

McGuire won't allow Longstreet to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGuire pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Longstreet is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGuire controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Longstreet wants to sweep but no luck.
McGuire advances to half guard.
McGuire works his way into side control.

McGuire tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McGuire is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Longstreet knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
A lull in the action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McGuire goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Longstreet has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McGuire but great work by Longstreet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donovan McGuire dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Longstreet is defended easily by McGuire.

McGuire gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Longstreet is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Longstreet struggling a bit here.

McGuire has an Americana. Longstreet didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! McGuire is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if McGuire hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Donovan McGuire!
