Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spencer Cobb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pradeep Kumar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spencer Cobb has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Spencer Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pradeep Kumar!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cobb pinned against the cage. Cobb gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Cobb counters by moving into the clinch.
Kumar is looking to take this one to the mat.
Spencer Cobb has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pradeep Kumar.
Kumar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cobb gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cobb is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kumar is defending well for now.
Kumar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cobb just stands there and leans against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee is keeping an eye on Cobb - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Kumar tries to score a body lock takedown but Cobb shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Cobb stops a takedown attempt from Kumar.

Cobb has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kumar uses from the top position.
Kumar tries to stand but Cobb is controlling from the bottom.
Kumar slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kumar is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kumar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kumar won't allow Cobb to sweep him here.
Kumar looking to sit in guard and control but Cobb gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Cobb thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Cobb loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Cobb drops back looking for a leg! Kumar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kumar manages to kick Cobb off! Cobb jumps back into Kumar's guard.

Kumar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cobb can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kumar is trying to control the position but Cobb postures up.

Cobb won't allow Kumar to sweep him here.
Cobb postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cobb chips away with some ground and pound.

Cobb drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kumar dives on top into guard.

Cobb lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cobb really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cobb drops back looking for a leg! Kumar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kumar manages to kick Cobb off! Cobb jumps back into Kumar's guard.
Kumar wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cobb is now in half guard.

Cobb is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kumar is looking to get back to full guard here but Cobb has managed to pass to side control instead.

Cobb wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kumar, who protects the arm well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Kumar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spencer Cobb dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Kumar gets a clinch.
Cobb slows down the pace here.
Kumar effectively controlling the action here.
Kumar tries to pull guard but Cobb holds him up against the cage and eventually Kumar drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Cobb breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cobb closes the distance and clinches.
Kumar tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cobb wants to get back to striking at distance but Kumar won't allow it.

Kumar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kumar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cobb. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cobb has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kumar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Spencer Cobb overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kumar wants to control from the top but Cobb keeps moving.

Kumar stands up from Cobb's guard - Kumar perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cobb blocks the body kick.
Kumar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cobb swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kumar gets a takedown into half guard.
Cobb is looking for a sweep. Kumar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kumar working Cobb over with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kumar seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Cobb is refusing to be controlled, as Kumar sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cobb is pressing down on Kumar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Cobb has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kumar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kumar stands up over Cobb, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kumar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cobb haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kumar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cobb's head.
Kumar is stalling in the full guard.

Pradeep Kumar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Kumar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kumar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cobb fails to land the takedown.
Pradeep Kumar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kumar drops Cobb with a beautiful combination! Cobb stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kumar is looking for the KO!


Cobb is rocked!


It looks like Spencer Cobb has been cut.
Cobb shoots in but Kumar avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Oh Cobb is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spencer Cobb. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cobb drops his hands momentarily and Kumar needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Cobb just on the top of the head. Cobb drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Cobb - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Pradeep Kumar!
