PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Salvatore Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamim Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Benjamim Santos was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Salvatore Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benjamim Santos!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Santos throws a sloppy body shot
and Cole counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Santos throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cole.
Santos cracks Cole with a good jab.

Santos drives through with a takedown into Cole's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Santos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Let's hope that Santos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cole swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Santos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Santos misses with a combination

and Cole counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Cole decides to return to a standing position.
Santos throws a body shot but no joy.
Cole is looking to counter the offense by Santos and move into the clinch.
Cole takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Cole is rocked!

Santos closes the distance looking for a takedown. Cole stuffs it but Santos still has hold of him. Santos picks Cole up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Santos slams Cole to the floor and that's really hurt Cole - he doesn't know where he is! Santos throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
