The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alesund has Morton up against the cage in a clinch.
Morton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Alesund keeps control of Morton as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Morton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alesund was covering up waiting for the punch and Morton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Alesund lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Morton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alesund accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alesund is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Morton tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Morton controls Alesund momentarily but Alesund frees himself.
Alesund slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alesund decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morton, up you get!

Morton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alesund to the mat! Alesund manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alesund is on top in guard.

Alesund gets to his feet - Morton follows without any prompting.

Morton pushes Alesund up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Morton tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Alesund struggles to land a body shot inside as Morton controls his hands.
Morton jumps guard but Alesund stands there with Morton around his waist. Morton gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Morton tries to clinch up but Alesund circles away and keeps his distance.
Alesund shoots in but no luck this time.

Alesund has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Morton is on him like a limpet, forcing Alesund back against the cage.

Alesund misses with a takedown attempt - Morton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
