Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Potsy Van Poole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maurice Stone!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stone gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Van Poole content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Stone breaks from the clinch.
Van Poole tries to close the distance and clinch but Stone swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Van Poole rushes Stone and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Stone decides to pull guard.
Stone wants to sweep here but Van Poole controlling him for the moment.
Van Poole has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Van Poole wants to take the fight to the mat but Stone manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Van Poole isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stone stacks Van Poole on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stone!

Van Poole shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stone pinned against the cage. Stone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Van Poole pushes Stone off but Stone dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stone is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Van Poole's shoulder. That is not cool.

Stone should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Stone tries to stand but Van Poole is controlling his head.

Stone is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Van Poole is trying to stand back up but Stone is controlling him

Van Poole avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stone.
Van Poole is in trouble now - Stone has advanced to mount!

Van Poole tries to lock up and control but Stone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stone takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone fails to advance to Van Poole's back.

Stone scoring with strikes but Van Poole is staying in there.
Stone scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Van Poole?
Stone looking to control but Van Poole is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Maurice Stone has got the better of the ground game so far.
Stone throwing strikes here but Van Poole is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Van Poole is trying to escape the mount but Stone keeps good control and instead manages to take Van Poole's back.

Stone gets his hands free as Van Poole looks to control.
Van Poole covers up after that shot from Stone.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maurice Stone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Stone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stone lands in his opponent's guard.
Stone is standing up over Van Poole. Van Poole looks to escape but Stone dives into side control.

Stone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Van Poole keeps working.

Van Poole won't enjoy being in this position. Stone looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Van Poole is tapping - it's over boys! Stone picks up the submission victory!
