PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James VonBrunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Rattlehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rattlehead has chosen Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James VonBrunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vic Rattlehead!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

VonBrunn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rattlehead's guard.
VonBrunn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rattlehead had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. VonBrunn is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rattlehead Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take VonBrunn's back instead.
VonBrunn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rattlehead on the ground.
VonBrunn rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
VonBrunn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

VonBrunn wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Rattlehead is now in half guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Rattlehead has eaten all the pies!

That's one minute gone in the round.
VonBrunn is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rattlehead jumps into side control!
VonBrunn is looking to regain half guard here but Rattlehead keeps moving and retains side control.
Rattlehead misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
VonBrunn manages to get back to half guard.
VonBrunn works his way to full guard. Good work.
VonBrunn bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rattlehead's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
VonBrunn won't allow Rattlehead to sweep him here.

Rattlehead escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. VonBrunn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rattlehead looks gassed!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rattlehead is on top in guard.

Rattlehead is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but VonBrunn has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Rattlehead is looking to defend but VonBrunn has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Rattlehead! VonBrunn pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Rattlehead taps out and this one is all over!
