Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mary Noel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Midori Kaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mary Noel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Midori Kaze!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noel works over Kaze's head and body with a nice combination.

Noel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Noel showed some decent athleticism there.
Kaze is looking to improve his position.
Kaze keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Let's hope that Kaze has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Noel not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Noel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kaze on the ground.

Kaze desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Kaze manages to get to full guard.
Noel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kaze is pulling down on Noel's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaze is looking to sweep but instead, Noel has passed into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Noel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kaze is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Noel misses with a head shot. Kaze uses the momentum to regain guard.
Noel throws a strike but Kaze rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Noel throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kaze escapes and throws Noel's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Noel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kaze wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kaze is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Noel has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kaze decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kaze has Noel up against the cage in a clinch.

Kaze wants the takedown. Noel is fighting it off but Kaze persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Noel's guard against the cage.
Kaze looks winded!

Noel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kaze wants to control from the top but Noel keeps moving.
Kaze passes into half guard.
Kaze is trying to control. Noel wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Midori Kaze dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kaze lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kaze forces Noel back against the cage and clinches.
Kaze has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Noel is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kaze to keep the fight standing.

Kaze manages to pull guard.
Kaze wants to sweep but no luck.
Kaze pulls Noel in close to his closed guard and prevents Noel from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kaze is breathing heavily.

Kaze utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kaze has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Noel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Noel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kaze has control of Noel's left arm, preventing Noel from doing any damage.
Kaze looking for a sweep. Not yet Kaze, not yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kaze wants to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kaze shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Kaze looks to land a strike but Noel avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Noel looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kaze passes into half guard.
Kaze wants to control but Noel is keeping him busy.
Noel wants to improve his position but Kaze is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kaze is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Noel is just riding it out for now. Kaze eventually gives up the hold.
Kaze throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kaze in particular looking to stall.

Noel actively working from the bottom here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kaze is looking for a kimura here.

Noel looking for submissions off his back.
Noel misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Midori Kaze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Kaze gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kaze tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kaze pressing his opponent against the cage.
Kaze throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Kaze is struggling to control the position.
Kaze takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Noel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kaze turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kaze manages to end up in side control.
Noel looks to move to half guard but instead Kaze has passed into mount! Damn!
Noel can't escape the position.
Noel avoids a series of strikes thrown by Kaze.

Kaze throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Kaze prevents Noel from getting the reversal.
Noel tries to improve his position but instead Kaze has taken his back!
Kaze really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Noel.
Kaze keeps control of the position as Noel tries to break free.
Noel rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Noel throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Kaze is trying to control. Noel wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kaze passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Noel!
Noel is looking to improve his position but Kaze isn't that keen on the idea.
Kaze content just to control the position here.

Kaze looking to control but Noel is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Midori Kaze is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Midori Kaze comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kaze winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
