Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wallid Cozad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nage Sorthcutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nage Sorthcutt will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorthcutt cracks Cozad with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cozad keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cozad throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sorthcutt was covering up waiting for the punch and Cozad finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sorthcutt wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cozad manages to pass to side control.
Cozad is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sorthcutt defends it well.
We've been hearing that Cozad has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Cozad is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Cozad is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cozad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cozad passes the guard and advances to mount!
Cozad looking to isolate an arm here. Sorthcutt doesn't see it coming and as Cozad extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Cozad!
