The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monson lands a leg kick that knocks Pacquiao off balance momentarily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Monson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Pacquiao throws a body punch but Monson moves out of range.
Pacquiao scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Monson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pacquiao.
Dave Monson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pacquiao stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pacquiao wants it to stay on the feet.
Pacquiao cracks Monson with a left hook right on the temple and Monson goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Pacquiao lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Monson is OK!

In his post fight interview, Manny Pacquiao started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
The defeated Dave Monson had this to say: 'I was prepared really bad going in this match , but i will come back stronger!'.
