Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Dunlap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hokki Kage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hokki Kage is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Desmond Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hokki Kage!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunlap takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kage tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dunlap is able to avoid easily.
Kage showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dunlap.
Kage throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dunlap could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kage.
Dunlap feints a jab promting Kage to slip. Dunlap then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kage slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Dunlap shoots in and drives through. Kage sprawls well.
Dunlap swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kage appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Kage misses with a kick to the body.
Dunlap tries to counter with a takedown but Kage is quick to defend against it.
Kage looks to land a body kick but Dunlap moved away.

Dunlap clinches.
Kage jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dunlap walks away with a smile on his face. Kage gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kage throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dunlap prevents Kage from escaping the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dunlap takes a little break here. Kage wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Kage is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dunlap asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Dunlap stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Kage dodges the punch combination from Dunlap.
Dunlap throws a one two combo.
Kage misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kage shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunlap tries to sprawl out of it but Kage keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunlap manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dunlap appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Desmond Dunlap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hokki Kage.

Dunlap pushes Kage up against the cage in a clinch.

Dunlap's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dunlap throws a head kick that Kage semi-blocks.
Kage doesn't succeed with the takedown

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dunlap has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kage uses from the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dunlap throws a strike but Kage rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dunlap is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kage can do to turn this around?

Dunlap stands and steps away. Kage gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunlap lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kage at a distance.
Kage shoots in for a double leg but Dunlap sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dunlap shoots for a double leg takedown but Kage sprawls well. He's pushed Dunlap's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Dunlap throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kage was covering up waiting for the punch and Dunlap finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dunlap has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Dunlap's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dunlap has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dunlap dives in and grabs Kage's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kage pushes down on Dunlap's head and hops out.

Kage has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dunlap is on him like a limpet, forcing Kage back against the cage.

Kage goes for a double leg but Dunlap avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dunlap continues to drive forward.

As Kage looks to move away, Dunlap throws a big counter combo but Kage just gets out of the way.
Kage looks for the body kick but Dunlap saw that one coming.

Dunlap gets to his feet. Kage looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dunlap escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dunlap walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kage throws a leg kick but Dunlap sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Dunlap looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kage tries to clinch but Dunlap moves out of range.
It looked like Dunlap was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kage throws the kick towards the body but Dunlap avoids it.

Dunlap forces Kage back against the cage and clinches.
Dunlap fails to pull guard.
Kage wants to break free but Dunlap has control.

Dunlap's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lazy body kick from Kage

and Dunlap counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dunlap sitting in guard here, content to control.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kage holds on and takes a little breather.

Kage is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dunlap is aware though and is defending well.
Kage is trying to control the position but Dunlap postures up.
Dunlap not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dunlap seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kage for as long as he can get away with.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Desmond Dunlap.
Well Dunlap has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
