The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strickland throws a wild body kick that Wycc sees coming a mile off.

Strickland closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Strickland tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Strickland is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Wycc will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Strickland is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wycc has escaped the position, nice work there.
Strickland really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wycc wants to control but Strickland postures up.

Strickland throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Wycc's head.
Wycc takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Wycc rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Strickland moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wycc wants to break the clinch but can't.

Wycc has picked Strickland up - he's going for a ride! Wycc dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Strickland has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wycc is on him like a limpet, forcing Strickland back against the cage.

Wycc has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Strickland uses from the top position.
Strickland is working Wycc over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
