Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Massive Attack - One thought at a time. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Steele!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott closes the distance and clinches up with Steele, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes Steele against the cage but Steele circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Scott has a takedown stuffed.
Steele tries to clinch up but Scott circles away and keeps his distance.

Scott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Steele sprawls well initially but Scott persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Steele looks like he's trying to stand up.

Steele is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily.
Steele is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Scott is thwarting Steele's attempts to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Scott circles away from the clinch attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Steele really wants to buck Scott off and get back to his feet.

Scott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Steele tries to avoid it but Scott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Steele to the ground. Steele escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scott will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Steele keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Steele tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Steele moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Scott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steele's waist but Steele gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Scott off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lance Steele showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Scott looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Steele is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steele moves into full guard.

Scott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Steele avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Steele is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Steele is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Scott stops Steele from standing up.

Steele working for submissions but it's allowed Scott to get to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Steele wants to get back to full guard but Scott has passed into side control.
Steele is trying to escape the mount.
Steele is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Steele bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Steele is looking to stand up but Scott won't let him.
Scott controls Steele momentarily but Steele frees himself.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Steele in particular looking to stall.

James Scott showed his dominance in that final round.
