The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ozturk misses with a kick to the body.
Yakovlev misses with a leg kick
and Ozturk counters with a thumping low kick.
Yakovlev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ozturk feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Yakovlev takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ozturk misses with an uppercut.
Yakovlev buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Alexander Yakovlev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yakovlev scores with a spinning back kick!
Yakovlev swings widly with a right hand
and Ozturk counters with a nice leg kick.
Yakovlev throws a hook to the side of Ozturk's head but Ozturk sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ozturk throws a low kick but Yakovlev moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ozturk throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Alexander Yakovlev has been cut.
Yakovlev takes a swing at Ozturk's ribcage but misses.
Ozturk quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Ozturk looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Ozturk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Yakovlev looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Yakovlev clinches up with Ozturk and pushes him back against the ropes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ozturk lands a body punch.

Ozturk trying to stall but Yakovlev improves his position.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Ozturk lands an elbow inside.
Ozturk gets through Yakovlev's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

That has opened up Alexander Yakovlev's cut even more.
Ozturk lands a right hand.
Ozturk scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Yakovlev is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Yakovlev wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ozturk has him pressed against the ropes.
Ozturk gets through Yakovlev's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Yakovlev manages to break the clinch.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Hadi Ozturk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Ozturk counters with a nice low kick that buckles Yakovlev's knee momentarily.

Yakovlev throws a jab but it's blocked by Ozturk.

and Ozturk counters with a slapping leg kick.
Ozturk lands a head kick that sends Yakovlev down! Yakovlev is flopping around the mat trying to get back up, leaving the referee no choice but to wave off the fight! Ozturk is victorious!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Hadi Ozturk!
In his post fight interview, Hadi Ozturk started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Alexander Yakovlev spoke after the fight, saying 'I ll be back, as soon as possible'.
