PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Rorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greene comes to the cage accompanied by Oakland. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ray Rorden was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hunter Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Rorden!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene dives in and grabs Rorden's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rorden pushes down on Greene's head and hops out.
Rorden scores with a hook.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Greene.

Rorden bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Rorden looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sloppy strikes from Rorden. Those never looked like landing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Greene moves forwards but Rorden connects with a nice, crisp jab.


It looks like Hunter Greene has been cut.
Nice takedown defense from Rorden. No joy for Greene on that attempt.
Greene displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rorden.
Greene swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Greene definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rorden works the jab nicely.

Greene shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Greene was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Greene trying to control the action but Rorden is working from the bottom.

Greene creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Greene scores with punches from side control.
Rorden managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Greene.
Rorden dodges the ground and pound from Greene.
Greene wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rorden keeps working.
Rorden is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Greene is controlling him well.
Rorden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Greene. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Greene scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rorden to see if he's OK.

Rorden is trying to get back to his feet.

Greene working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Greene scores with a couple of short elbows.

Greene goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rorden rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Greene's guard! Nice work there by Rorden!

Greene bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rorden's guard.

Greene is in close to Rorden's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Greene wants to control from the top but Rorden keeps moving.
Greene working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rorden's head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rorden can do anything to dispel that myth.

Greene is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Greene throwing strikes from guard but Rorden blocks nicely.
Rorden wants to stand but Greene is controlling the position.
Greene advances position into side control!
Rorden is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Rorden gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Greene is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Greene lands a heavy elbow.
Greene has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
BOOM! Greene connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Greene trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Greene landing strikes from the mount and Rorden is in trouble!


Rorden is rocked!
Rorden looks winded!
Rorden's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Greene wants to finish this one by submission but Rorden is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Greene.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Greene breaks from Rorden's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Greene with the ground and pound from mount.
Rorden is still in real trouble! Can Greene finish him?
Rorden trying desperately to get to his feet.
Rorden seems to have recovered his senses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hunter Greene dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hunter Greene's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rorden throws a right and a left that Greene avoids nicely.

Greene gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Greene pulls Rorden into guard.
Greene preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Greene manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rorden manages to get himself to full guard.

Greene forces his way into half guard.
Greene throwing shots but Rorden is blocking nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greene seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Rorden is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Greene scores with a couple of nice shots.

Rorden on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Greene is looking to advance position but Rorden won't allow it.
Greene is looking to stall here but Rorden recovers full guard.
Greene postures up in Rorden's guard and throws a big left but Rorden blocks it.
Rorden keeping moving, preventing Greene from controlling successfully.
Greene won't allow Rorden to get back to his feet.
Greene makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rorden wants to stand and escape but Greene is having none of it.

Greene drops back looking for a leg! Rorden is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rorden manages to kick Greene off! Greene jumps back into Rorden's guard.

Greene stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Greene gets a takedown into half guard.

Greene is working for a submission of some sort.
Greene not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Rorden wants to stand back up but Greene manages to pass into side control.
Greene landing a few strikes.
Greene scoring with punches and elbows.
Rorden trying to remain calm as Greene controls from the top position.

Greene tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Greene has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Greene works to advance to full mount. Rorden defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Greene working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Greene working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Rorden looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Greene! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Hunter Greene!
As Hunter Greene got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: This win goes out to all of those less fortunate then me, may god bless you all. I Love all my fans...'.
