Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Strawberry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richards comes to the cage accompanied by NF - Intro. Strawberry is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Brass Monkey. DJ Strawberry is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Strawberry manages to avoid it.
Strawberry fails to land with a series of punches.
Strawberry pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Richards back to the cage. Strawberry follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like James Richards has been cut.
DJ Strawberry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richards throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Strawberry's waist but Strawberry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Richards off to one side.
Strawberry looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Strawberry throws a left that rocks Richards and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Strawberry dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Richards regain composure!

Strawberry decides to stand up, so the ref orders Richards to his feet.
Richards shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Strawberry drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Richards defends it well.
Richards fails with an attempt to clinch.

Strawberry takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strawberry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Richards. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richards is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Strawberry pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Richards manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Strawberry wants to control from the top but Richards keeps moving.

Strawberry gets to his feet - Richards follows without any prompting.
Strawberry lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Richards backs up against the cage.
Richards shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Strawberry pinned against the cage. Strawberry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Strawberry lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Richards sprawling to the canvas. Strawberry follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Richards hang on?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Richards tries to kick Strawberry off but Strawberry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Strawberry scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Strawberry throws a combination. Richards tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Strawberry throws a half hearted mid kick.
Richards looks for a takedown but Strawberry sprawls well.
Strawberry closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Richards takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Richards has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Strawberry finds it's way round the side to connect with Richards's head.
Richards has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Richards rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Strawberry moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Oh Richards is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Strawberry slaps away a takedown attempt from Richards, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Richards seems to have got his legs back now.

Nice combo by Strawberry! Oh, that's hurt him - Richards falls to the canvas and Strawberry follows him into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Strawberry is looking to take a break and control but Richards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Strawberry looks up at the clock and then as Richards takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Strawberry smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Richards is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Strawberry off and has taken his back!
Richards tries to keep control of the position but Strawberry is staying busy.

Richards is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Strawberry has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Richards has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Strawberry has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
