The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk throws a lazy right hand but Matthews sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Matthews uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hawk.
Matthews misses with a wild body shot.
Hawk throws out a loose jab but Matthews uses good head movement to avoid it.
Matthews feints a counter leg kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Hawk as he connects with a hook.

Hawk shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Matthews is trying to defend but Hawk finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Hawk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hawk lands a big elbow - Matthews is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Hawk!
