Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rogelio Haley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haley moves into range and clinches up with Brooks.
Haley wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Haley is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Brooks successfully pulls guard.

Brooks is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Haley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Haley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Brooks kicks Haley off and gets to his feet.

Brooks shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Haley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Haley is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Brooks presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Haley is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Haley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brooks drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Haley gets control of Brooks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Haley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Brooks postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brooks wants to control from the top but Haley keeps moving.
Brooks won't allow Haley to sweep him here.
Haley with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Brooks can't handle though.
Haley throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Brooks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Haley keeping moving, preventing Brooks from controlling successfully.
Brooks passes Haley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Brooks prevents Haley from standing back up.
Haley trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Haley is trying to control the position but Brooks postures up.
Haley will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Haley wants to stand but Brooks is controlling the position.
Haley trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Haley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Brooks trying to stand up but can't free himself from Haley's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Brooks clinches with his opponent.
Haley jumps guard but Brooks turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rogelio Haley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Haley is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Brooks pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Brooks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Haley just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brooks tightens his grip and picks Haley up, before dumping him to the ground. Haley manages to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Haley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Haley blocks the elbow strike.

Haley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brooks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Brooks takes the fight into the clinch.

Brooks lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Brooks looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Haley works his way to full guard. Good work.

Haley looking for a triangle here. Brooks is fighting it but it looks tight! Haley pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Brooks is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Rogelio Haley!
